The Students Of Life!

29th May 2014, Thursday, Class 12 CBSE board results came out and majority of the students nailed it.
My school, DPS VASANT KUNJ for the first time had an all India topper, the number of people who scored a 90: That too reached the sky.
My Facebook was bombarded with statuses and the congratulatory messages, and since I’m quite close to many of my juniors, even I decided to congratulate them through the social networking site.

Germany Daily Life

It’s not easy to get a 90. It’s never easy, nothing is easy. Kudos to all the hardworking students, it’s an effort that is going to stay with them throughout their lives. But the sad part is that in between this social mob, in between this excitement, many of us forget what the other students go through.
The ones who aren’t able to score a 90, or even an 80 and the ones who barely pass or just manage a 60 or a 70.
They are all neglected, they are all demoralised by most of us.
Specially the society!

Each and every mark requires hardwork and determination, why don’t people realise that? There are many people who are inhumanly intelligent, we can’t even match up to them, but that doesn’t mean they should have topped.
Sometimes the brain can’t store so many things, sometimes it’s just the scattered material that’s left inside your brain, even though you’ve worked really hard for it.
But again, that doesn’t mean you aren’t intelligent. That student might explain those answers in a much better way than the one who managed a 90 or a 95, but we never really look at it like that.

Competition all around, insecurities all around, the hunger and the passion, to be on top and to never fall down. That’s how the society functions now, and in between this competition and hunger, students who aren’t able to ‘logically compete’ (in terms of the grades), they start dying from inside.
The complex, it kills them.
They carry so much of weight, they carry so much of guilt and many of them, they blame themselves for this ‘failure’ (which is actually untrue) and go into the depressing shell. As human beings, we really should think about these people. (I’ve been through this, specially because I myself was a scholar at one point of time, but I hardly got a 74 percent in my boards)

Support is a must, life is way beyond grades and marks. These students may not look like geniuses to a lot of people today, but you never know, hardwork and the ‘actual’ intelligence, it may take them to a completely different height all together.
So all those students who have been depressed and have been going through the strange anxiety and complex of not leaving a mark today, just believe in yourself and your dreams, you’ll make your own future, your hardwork will count, just follow your heart and ignore these situational anxieties and societal pressures, your family will support you unconditionally, even if they don’t show it today.
And all those bright people who have actually made it to the 90’s, congratulations again, you all are special!

Best of luck to all of us, the students in schools, the students in colleges, the students in offices: The Students Of Life!life-goal
